What are the benefits of being a first aider?

Firstly, being a first aider in the workplace is a responsibility. You do need to be physically and mentally fit to fulfil the role.

Due to this responsibility, sometimes people can be hesitant to be a first aider and employers can struggle to recruit enough people to volunteer for the role. But of course the responsibility can seem daunting to someone who has little knowledge - that is why you receive training.

So what are the benefits of being a first aider?

1) You will learn a new skill
2) Your life saving skills and knowledge could make a big difference to someone and even save a life!
3) These skills you will learn don't just apply to work. You are learning to identify and be able to deal with emergency situations that could help your family.
4) Part of a community group or a sports club? You could use the qualification to be a first aider for them too.
5) It shows you are ready to take on more responsibility in work.
6) Great to add to your CV!
7) You will gain confidence. Confidence in learning something new, confidence in looking after your loved ones and confidence in an emergency.
8) It is free! Your employer is paying for this qualification for you, that could benefit so many people in your life.
