Course overview:
This course is aimed at those healthcare workers providing support to individuals who are suffering from, or affected by, stroke. It will help the learner to understand what stroke is, the wide-ranging effects it can have on individuals and the varying types of support available.
Course learning outcomes:
By the end of the day, learners will be able to:
• Define the term Stroke
• List the types of Stroke including Brain Stem and Crypto Genic Stroke
• Discuss the causes of Stroke and the current statistics of stroke causes
• List the signs and symptoms of a Stroke including F.A.S.T
• Discuss the treatment and prevention of a Stroke
• Explain the importance of managing long term stroke effects
