Course overview:
This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to operate an AED safely whilst learning how to preserve a life using current CPR protocols. The training is an ideal course for first aiders wishing to upgrade their skills or learners who wish to learn to operate these lifesaving devices.
Course learning outcomes:
By the end of the day, learners will be able to:
• Discuss and practice the Primary Survey
• Demonstrate effective management of an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
• Demonstrate effective management of an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
• Discuss the chain of survival
• Discuss the common reasons of Cardiac Arrest
• Describe the physiology and anatomy of the heart
• Discuss, demonstrate, and imitate how to safely use an automated external defibrillator
• Discuss the importance of recording and reporting an incident
