Course overview:

This Intimate Personal Care training is delivered onsite at a venue of your choice for groups of up to 16 learners and is designed to up-skill support workers/care staff to enable them to give the highest standards of intimate care whilst ensuring the privacy and dignity of individuals being supported.

Course learning outcomes:

By the end of the day learners will be able to:

• List applicable legislation and local Policies
• Define the term Intimate Care
• Describe the difference between personal care and intimate care.
• Discuss and demonstrate the principles of intimate and personal care
including infection control and prevention.
• Discuss the potential safeguarding risks and control methods
associated with intimate care including record keeping and reporting.
• Explore the good practice guidelines for providing intimate care.
• Discuss ways we can promote dignity and respect.
