Course overview:

This course has been developed to give the learner basic knowledge in defining terminology, recognising different types of abuse and understanding the importance of responding to acts of abuse. Upon successful completion of the course, leaners will be awarded a certificate in Safeguarding Children & Young People Awareness.

Course learning outcomes:

By the end of the session, the learner should be able to:
• Define who is a child and young person
• Explain the term Abuse
• Recognising acts, signs and symptoms of abuse
• List the types of abuse including County Lines, Modern day Slavery and Radicalisation
• Discuss how to safeguard children and young people from abuse
• Describe what to do in the event of a suspicion or allegation of abuse
• List the ways in which organizations can prevent exploitation and/or abuse to children and young people
